#3 Bootleg Weight Watchers

In an effort to lose a few pounds and jump start the year I decided to diet. Really diet as in have a plan and make a conscious effort to work out or do some activity every day and eat better. In my quest for things to eat that are healthy, vegetarian and full of protein I came across a link titled “Ghetto Weight Watchers”. It breaks out the WW formula for you so you don’t have to pay for that gibberish. It also provides an excel sheet that lets you input the fat, calories and fiber of anything you eat and determine the WW point value. And it’s all free. BADA BING!

I quickly learned that a bagel is the worst thing in the world to eat and that my favorite steamed cauliflower and cheese frozen meal is 0 points. 0 POINTS. One cannot exist on cauliflower and cheese alone but I sure can snack on it freely.

#2 The Frosting Dress Phenomenon

Wedding dresses and finding one are now the bane of my existence. I’m realizing that there is a conspiracy against big brides forcing us to have limited options and one of the most popular is the frosting dress. The frosting dress is an animal that has taken the bridal fashion world by storm.

Let’s take a look at a few great dresses that unfortunately look as though they have been coated in whipped frosting.

#1 I love this dress. I love the cap sleeves, I love the bodice and I love the neckline. I do not love the whipped frosting texture a-line bottom.

#2 Again LOVE the neckline and the halter straps. I see no need for frosting on this dress. I imagine it would be svelte and sexy with a closer cut bottom and no pintucking or draping or whatever they are calling this.

I don’t like any of these dresses but look at the amount of cupcakery!

In short frosting dresses are taking over and I’m doing everything in my power to avoid one.

#1 What Is The Point of This?

I’m getting married! and it’s about time. I have been engaged since October 2010 and in the past 3 months have learned and been confused by so much of the bridal industry. Things have been complicated by the fact that I am fat. Fat according to charts and graphs, curvy and beautiful according to my husband-to-be. Being over a size 12 automatically means that my choices of dresses and bridal wear are slim and I’m finding more articles on what Spanx to purchase and how to lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks and less on how to accentuate my waist without a corset and girdle.

Follow me as I navigate the world of dress fittings, opinionated sales women and learning to feel good about myself in an industry not designed for me.
